Myriophyllum aquaticum

Native to the Amazon, Parrotfeather does not have any ecological advantages and is very difficult to eliminate once introduced in a waterway. Typically seen in undisturbed waters it can severely disrupt the ecosystem by altering chemical levels. Parrotfeather has a very strong greenish blue stem and short 2 inch leaves in whorls of 4 to 6. The 6 to 18 divisions on each leaf give it an appearance similar to a feather. This species is between 6.5 to 16 feet tall.
