Originally from Southeast Asia and India, Wild Taro is an invasive species and should be eradicated to prevent new colonies from developing. It is an emergent aquatic species typically found in shallow water, wet soil or a floating island. Environmental concerns include its ability to out-compete native plants or water blockages from floating islands. Wild Taro has dark green arrowhead shaped leaves approximately 23 inch long and 20 inches wide. It produces numerous tiny flowers and a small fruit berry.
