Nymphoides Peltata flower

Listed on the Florida Noxious Weed List, Yellow Floating Heart was originally introduced from Eastern Asia and has now become an invasive aquatic species in many rivers, swamps, lakes and ponds. Easily identified by its heart shaped leaves and flashy 5 petaled yellow flowers, this perennial plant is very difficult to eradicate once established. Green leaves covering the water surface range in size, measuring anywhere between 2 to 6 inches while the flowers are approximately 1 to 1.5 inches.
